Welcome to our Pack!

Cub Scout Pack 199

Pack 199 is located in Oldwick, New Jersey and is part of the Hunterdon Arrowhead District and Washington Crossing Council.

Our meetings are generally held the third Friday of every month at 7:00pm at the Tewksbury Elementary School on 109 Fairmont Road East (as long as school is in session). See the Pack Calendar for the next pack meeting date.

Scouting is an excellent way to make new friends, learn something new and have fun. When's the last time you went camping, hiked a nature trail, acted in a skit or got to do something out of the ordinary? If you are interested in seeing what it's all about, use the Contact Us link at left or better yet, stop by one of our meetings. We would be happy to show you around.

For older boys who have come to this website, the Boy Scouts program is available to those who are 11 through 17 years old. The program achieves the BSA's objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness. Visit the BSA Troop 199 website for additional information.

End of Scouting Season

Posted by apatykula on Jun 16 2018 - 9:44pm

Summer is just about here and we are winding down our Scouting Season.  For those able to attend the Family Picnic/Camp-Out last week, we hope you enjoyed the Cub Scouts atttaining their new Rank Advancements. We trust it was a good time for all. Thanks to the Boy Scout Troop for performing the Flag Ceremony and giving our Scouts something to look up to.
Mark your calendars for the Scout Fishing Derby on July 21st
Sign-Ups for the Cub Scout Summer Camps are still available at Camp Wheeler. If you have any questions about Summer Camp- reach out to Scout Leadership for answers.
If you know any Kindergarten or 1st Grade child (all grades actually) interested in Scouting, have them visit the website or reach out to Leadership directly
We are looking for feedback so the Survey remains open so please complete:  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/26C7RQS
Volunteers- we need volunteers as our Scouts (and Parents) advance into Boys Scouts. We have all different positions to be filled on an annual basis.
On that note, we want to thank all of the Volunteers this year as this Pack only functions with the support of the Volunteers and active parents.
Have a great Summer!!!!

Califon Memorial Day Parade

Posted by apatykula on May 26 2018 - 11:52pm

Once again, we have been invited to march in the Califon Memorial Day Parade. The parade is on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28th. It officially starts at 11:00 AM for any parents who would like to come and watch, but scouts must be there for 10:15 dressed in CLASS A. We will meet at the Califon School, located on School Street. We will be in the parking lot, where parents can drop Scouts off. After the parade, there will be a Memorial Service at noon, next to the Califon Veterans Memorial. The ceremony will end with a 21-Gun Salute. The Califon Fire Company will have food and drinks available for purchase. In addition to this, the Kona Ice Truck will be at the end of the parade, so come prepared with money if you would like to purchase something. We need as many Cub Scouts as possible to help represent the Pack. The Parade is always a fun experience, so I encourage everyone, Scouts and adults, to participate! Please RSVP on the Pack website.  Thank you!

Pack Camp-Out

Posted by apatykula on Apr 8 2018 - 1:29am

As previously announced, we have reserved the Group B Campsite at Jenny Jump State Park (330 State Park Rd, Hope, NJ 07844) for April 21st. The campsite allows for 40 campers so the sign-up function on the Pack website is already activated. If we quickly fill the 40 spaces, we MAY be able to reserve family sites in close proximity to the Group B campsite.  Do not dilly dally!!

The Camp-out will allow us some flexibility as the campsite has parking for vehicles but also offers interested campers the ability to "hike" into the campsite. Assuming we have some "Hikers", please register your interest in the notes field and we will organize a time and spot to go in as a group. In addition, we understand the fishing at or near the Park is really good so we will probably organize a little fishing trip in the morning, if interested. The Park map is attached. Let your Den Leaders know if you have any questions.
